Resources: Prayers for Pentencost

Join us as we pray Scripture to remember and invite Pentecost. We encourage you to follow a simple pattern of prayer:

  • Begin by asking the Holy Spirit for the spirit of wisdom and revelation (Ephesians 1:17) as you interact with the Lord through Scripture. Also ask for the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit to be with you (2 Corinthians 13:14).
  • Then read the passage out loud, perhaps more than once. Hearing it helps calm the mind and heart as well as focus your attention on the indwelling presence of Jesus and his Spirit who is with you as you pray.
  • Next, pray the verse out loud to God. Stick close to the words. Focus on the presence of the Lord within you.
  • Don’t merely pray the words. Use the biblical words to dialogue with the Lord. Say them, then pause in silence. Listen.
